About the PJRC

Petro Jacyk Resource Centre

The PJRC supports the activities of the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies, the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, and the five research chairs connected with Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Polish history, and Ukrainian studies.

Located on the 3rd floor of Robarts Library, the PJRC holdings include: a reference collection of over 4,600 encyclopaedias, historical atlases and chronologies, dictionaries, archival guides, bibliographies, biographical dictionaries, handbooks and directories; a selection of Russian- and Ukrainian-language video recordings; and bimonthly displays of selected new Slavic acquisitions.  In the PJRC, patrons may also make use of specialized equipment, including online publicly accessible catalogues and card and coin-operated copiers.

The PJRC acts as a gateway to print and electronic resources available throughout the University of Toronto Libraries and beyond, offering bibliographic, reference, and instructional services for information on Russia and East Central Europe.  Members of its staff are also available to develop course and subject guides, and to assist in organizing exhibitions.

Our staff looks forward to helping you with your questions and research.
